Two 2008 geoglyphs by Australian sculptor Andrew Rogers on Black Mesa, five miles north of Yucca Valley: “Rhythms of Life” (164 feet square) and “Atlatl” (200 feet long), laid in 460 tons of pale slate and quartzite against dark volcanic rock. Atlatl echoes a 3,000-year-old spear-thrower petroglyph from nearby outcrops.
