Despite the image evoked by Rodin’s The Thinker, philosophy is an activity that engages the most human dimension of human beings—the ability to think and to think critically. In this lecture, Dr. Kenneth J. Zanca attempts to explain what philosophy is and why it is important for everyone. Dr. Zanca is professor emeritus of Marymount California University with 30 years of teaching experience in the field of religious and philosophical ethics. He is the author of a philosophy textbook, How to Arrive at a Considered Opinion: A Method of Analyzing Moral Issues in the Public Debates, and a co-author of the world religions textbook Patterns of Religions (in its third edition).
