The dirt-trail gateway at the top of La Quinta Cove, where the pavement ends at Calle Tecate and the mountain trails begin — Bear Creek Oasis to a fan-palm oasis, the Cove to Lake route overlooking Lake Cahuilla, and the long Boo Hoff loop for a full day out. Leashed dogs welcome; start early and carry water.
