Dark Sky Stargazing at the North Shore Yacht and Beach Club

Take a drive away from city lights and join us in North Shore for an evening of stargazing in partnership with Desert Recreation District. Right on the shore of the Salton Sea, the North Shore Beach and Yacht Club (99155 Sea View Dr, Mecca, CA 92254) offers dark skies and quiet surroundings.

We will have telescopes set up for magnified viewing, but patrons will also be encouraged to simply look up and enjoy the splendor of the starlit sky. Outdoor chairs and blankets are encouraged! Throughout the evening, members of the Observatory Team will be present to share facts and stories about visible objects and answer all of your space questions.

As a courtesy to you and your fellow patrons, we ask that you minimize your light production when stargazing. Please refrain from using handheld screens (such as cellphones and tablets), taking photographs with flash, and wearing light-up shoes.

Please Note: The Rancho Mirage Observatory will be closed for this program. All stargazers should join the Observatory Team at the North Shore Yacht and Beach Club.
