Calling all space enthusiasts who can appreciate the wonder contained in a single point of light! Join us for Deep Space Night where we will point our PlaneWave Instruments CDK 700 telescope at an unassuming object like a distant galaxy, supernova, or dwarf planet and discuss what makes it such an interesting target. If you are looking for a view of detailed celestial splendor, this is not the program for you. If you would like to see something you have likely never seen before, we hope you will visit us at the Observatory!
As a courtesy to you and your fellow patrons, we ask that you minimize your light production when visiting the Observatory at night. Please refrain from using handheld screens (such as cellphones and tablets), taking photographs with flash, and wearing light-up shoes.
No registration is necessary for this drop-in, open-house-style event. Due to the capacity limits of the Observatory, you may experience a short wait, but everyone will have a chance to get in.
