The Art and Science of Air Combat
Sat, Feb 20, 2027 · 1pm–2pm · Palm Springs Air Museum · Palm Springs

The Art and Science of Air Combat will, in plain language, explain two main aspects of air combat maneuvering. One is the science of air combat, which explains how physics and aircraft design affect a fighter jet’s energy state. The other is the art of how the pilot responds to and manages these variables when deciding how to maneuver the jet during air combat against an adversary.
Presenter Gary Gomez is a retired naval aviator with over 2,000 hours in the F-4S Phantom and F-14A Tomcat with 279 carrier landings. He was an F-14 Weapons Training Officer and instructor at the Strike Weapons and Tactics School—Atlantic.
